Data Engineer
Location: Spain (Remote or Hybrid)
Contract Type: Freelance / Autónomo
Rate: €65 to €80 per hour
Overview:
We’re hiring a Data Engineer to support an FMCG client with large-scale data pipeline development and optimisation. This role suits someone who has worked on complex data environments and is used to delivering at pace in a business-critical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
– Build and maintain robust data pipelines using Python and Azure Data Factory
– Extract, transform, and process data directly from SAP systems (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA)
– Optimise data flow from SAP modules including finance, supply chain, and sales
– Improve pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability
– Support Data Scientists with production-ready pipelines
– Collaborate with governance teams to ensure data quality, traceability, and documentation
Tech Stack:
– Python
– Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage, Azure Functions
– SQL, Git, CI/CD
– SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA)
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a freelance/contractor (must be autónomo)
– 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineering role
– Strong hands-on experience working with SAP data
– Solid Azure platform knowledge
– Comfortable working independently and in cross-functional teams
– FMCG experience is a strong advantage
